Synopsis:
August 19, 1937. Totalitarianism advances inexorably. Exiled in Santander, Lehendakari Aguirre summons musician Gabriel Olaizola to entrust him with a mission: “We may have lost the war, but it is our duty to continue fighting through art.” It was in this context that Eresoinka was born, the largest interdisciplinary Basque art group, formed by exiles who conquered Paris and the best European stages, conveying a message of peace. But where does the power of art lie? Why can it be a tool for combat?
Inazita Olaizola and Margaritte Trueba, survivors of the epic, evoke the adventure of Eresoinka: the melody of the documentary. The accompaniment comes from Marga Berra, Ione Miren Agirre, and Pablo Ibarluzea, young Basque artists with ties to Paris who, through their artistic disciplines, illustrate aspects common to the story of Eresoinka and the movement as a representation of life itself.
